City Service SE provides apartment building management, engineering, and technical maintenance as well as cleaning, ground maintenance, and security services.
The challenges:
Before implementing SAP BPC City Service prepared its consolidated financial statements using Microsoft Excel, which resulted in these issues:
- Preparation of financial statements took too long;
- Financial data collection across companies was very complicated;
- Errors and inaccuracies in financial statements;
- Hard to manage the large number of people involved in the consolidation process;
- Problematic tracking of reporting versions.
The solution:
SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (SAP BPC) delivers planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial consolidation capabilities, so you can easily adjust plans and forecasts, speed up budget and closing cycles, and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
During the initial implementation stage City Service SE opted-in for the consolidation module of SAP BPC.
The outcome:
- All financial consolidation processes are carried out in a single system;
- Financial statements are now accurate and prepared in due time;
- Both standard and internal-use reports are prepared ;
- Shorter employee involvement in the consolidation process;
- Full traceability of financial statements and their data.
City Service SE plans to expand the system‘s functionality by adding the planning module and deploying it in other companies of the group.
